First let me say I'm not big into Mysteries but I LOVED this book. I read it in less than 24 hours. It had Cowgirls, Cowboys, a bit of Romance, a bit of mystery and a bit of FUN!
This was such a wonderful surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the author did a wonderful job with the characters and storyline. Samantha is a large animal vet with a great family and friends. She finds herself caught up in the mystery of betrayal and deception on the horse farm she does work for. Even through all of that she manages to find out that Cheyenne is attracted to her and the feelings are mutual. The story keeps you interested from the beginning to the end. Overall just a great read. Highly recommend.
This was a five star book. I would high recommend it to my friends. Good from beginning to end. Very well written.
Great horse based story. Always like to read a nice love story. This one had some mystery and tied in the love story also. Good Book!
This little gem of a book is the author's first, and a very nice attempt indeed. The characters are very likeable, interesting and well developed. The plot is complicated just enough to give twists and turns to keep the reader guessing. There is romance, but no explicit sex scenes, and plenty of humor and warm family ties to make it a well-rounded story. I really enjoyed this book, and I look forward to reading more from this new author.
Kirkus Review says Jones (Cowgirl Up!, 2012) seems less interested in creating tension than in demonstrating that the baby boomer set can still throw down, and by that measure, she admirably succeeds. A high-spirited thriller that highlights the enduring joys of female friendships.
Take a breath of fresh air and come with the lemon drop martini gals to one of Colorado's most beautiful resort towns. Constantly busy hiking, boating, lunching, and kayaking, these 60-something ladies are far too busy for an inept hit man to keep up with. In fact, a grumpy ghost who attaches herself to the group during a fortune telling session causes more trouble than the mob. Scared Hitless is loaded with fun, adventure, friendship, and even romance. In today's marketplace, it is most refreshing to enjoy a little dalliance without all the erotic details. Scared Hitless is a great summer read.
I have not read a book that had as much to offer as this one in a very long time. The only time I put it down once I started to read was to wipe the tears from my eyes due to laughing A fast-moving story with interesting and engaging characters throughout the story. The main characters will grasp you by the hand and draw you in right from the beginning.
No spoilers here. I enjoyed this story way too much to ruin its effect for another reader. Kudos to Ms. Jones!!!!
This is the book you need to read when you need a good laugh. I am going to buy more as soon as available and share with my kindle pals. Oh then to tell all my friends as well. I am as the age of the club members and they gave me some inspiration to want to get out there again and have fun. Thanks to ms for the great time.
Laughed out loud. Good story for us 60 something's and anyone who wants a fast, fun read. Strong characters who defy our mothers version of grandmothers. A little mystery, a little "go girl"' and a little romance. Want to read the next one.
Hooked after the first page. For every woman who's still raising cane and loving life at 50+! If you can read this and not laugh out loud.....then read it again because you need to relax and enjoy life!
I give this book the top five. It has everything you want. Old friends, good vibes and a southern adventure to get your blood steaming! What better southern city than New Orleans to whisk you away on a great summer read. Adventure, Spunk and Intrigue add to the flavor of the Lemon Drop Martini Club. Shake and stir. You won't be disappointed.
This was a fun, quick read. I love how the cast of women are easy to relate to, and reading about their many adventures makes me smile. I cannot wait for the next book in this series!
A great reunion of friends in this book! Love the humor and conversation. So glad that Carolyn wrote another book about these women and their adventures. I am looking forward to the next book.
So entertaining! Love the adventure with crazy women -- taking place in New Orleans. Fun! Spunky!
Can't wait for the next one.
Another great read by my childhood friend and former Louisville Pirate, Carolyn! Thanks again for several more reading hours of humor, adventure, outrageous fun, and hometown memories!
